WEEK01 JOURNAL

For me, this course is quite challenging and also interesting as we need to engage in small and large team collaboration. In my opinion, this is the best practice for our future career, especially as an architect. I believe that collaboration is important as it assists us in achieving a greater result in any project. Therefore, I will try my best to participate and learn as many as skills from this course.

In the first-week studio (12 March 2009), we started working collaboratively in teams. My team consists of Swati Tiku, Jackey Tran, and Wilson Tan. We agreed with a team name, ‘E-volve’ as it would be suitable for our team as we are “evolving our concepts and ideas”. Our concepts and ideas will develop gradually throughout the course, and the future. With the discussion among the team, we decided to allocate our duties and tasks, for example, each of us will give a turn to complete team journal each week. We also agreed that everyone will be responsible for group work to the best of our abilities. We also searched for unbuilt architectures together as we would like to share our opinions and perspectives about buildings that we need to gather them for our first assignment. One of unbuilt architectures that all of us were interested in was named, “Massimo llardi” which is an organic form. However, the more research is the better result. Therefore, we had not made a decision yet. We are still searching for a better one and will gather all the information in the next meeting.

I am very glad to be one of this team. I believe that each of us has potential and ability to commit all the works and achieve our goal together.
